An alternative to your current screen basket
Screen baskets are usually replaced during a shutdown, and the new basket is often ordered from the previous supplier because there is no time to compare. Send the basket details well in advance, and you will get an alternative with the same connection dimensions, slot or hole size and material.

Screen basket types
Wedge wire slotted screen baskets
Welded slotted baskets for coarse and fine screens, headbox screens and fiber separators, inflow or outflow. The profile wires are fitted into laser-cut notches in the support rings and welded, after which the basket is hard chrome plated.

No-welding slotted screen baskets
The profile wires are locked mechanically to the support rings without welding. According to the manufacturer, this avoids welding stress and gives a large open area and a smooth surface. No-welding baskets are used in fine screens and headbox screens where the stock has to be particularly clean.

Drilled hole screen baskets
Drilled baskets for coarse screening and headbox screens, inflow or outflow, with a smooth or profiled surface.

- Plate thickness 5, 6 or 8 mm
- Hole types: straight, conical, stepped and profiled
Micro-perforated baskets for filtration
Electron-beam drilled baskets for black liquor and white water filtration, stock preparation shower water and stickies removal. Hole diameter 0.15 or 0.20 mm, open area 8–12 %, plate thickness 2–3 mm. Materials 304, 316L and duplex.
Coater screen baskets
For filtering coating colour and paper machine chemicals, inside-out or outside-in. Slot width from 0.038 mm, roundness tolerance ± 1.0 mm. Materials 304 and 316L.
Digester top separators
Top separator screens for continuous digesters and impregnation vessels, and plates for digester extraction screens. According to the manufacturer, the accurate roundness keeps the gap between basket and screw small, so the screw keeps the screen surface clean.

Materials

Cleaning keeps slots and holes open
Lime scale and other mineral deposits clog the slots and holes, and screening capacity drops. We clean screen baskets and screen plates with the acidic ACS 400 detergent as foam or by soaking. For heavy deposits there is the stronger ACS 62. You can order the cleaning as a service or buy the detergent and foaming equipment for your own use.
Inspections before delivery
The manufacturer inspects the basket before delivery so that it is ready to be installed during the shutdown.
- The manufacturer prepares a manufacturing drawing for your approval before production.
- The manufacturer measures the basket before delivery and supplies an inspection report.
- You can start with one basket and compare it with your current one.

Frequently asked questions about screen baskets
Can the basket replace the original basket from the equipment supplier?
Yes, when the dimensions or a drawing of the basket are available. The basket is made so that the connection dimensions, slot or hole and flow direction match your current basket. You approve the manufacturing drawing before production.
What if we have no drawing?
The manufacturer prepares a drawing from the dimensions of the old basket. We send you a list of the dimensions needed.
What is the delivery time?
Delivery time varies by product and is confirmed in the quotation. Manufacturing and freight take several weeks, so request a quotation well before the shutdown.
Which materials are available?
The standard material is AISI 316. 304, 316L, duplex 2205 and a combination of 316L wires with 304 rings are also available. The manufacturer recommends 316L for OCC mills.
Is it worth cleaning a clogged basket?
Yes, if the clogging is caused by lime scale or other mineral deposits. They are removed with an acidic detergent. A worn basket can also be re-chromed; ask for a quotation for a new basket for comparison.

The baskets are made by ADSF (Gu’an Anteng Precision Screening Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd.), which has manufactured screen baskets and screen plates since 1985. The factory has its own hard chrome plating plant and an ISO 9001 quality system. According to the manufacturer, it has customers in more than 20 countries, including Suzano, CMPC, APP and Oji Paper.
