Ruby high-pressure nozzles for wire and felt showers
One-piece nozzles with a ruby orifice for the high-pressure showers of paper, board and pulp machines. The nozzle seals with an O-ring and is changed with a 10 mm hex key, without removing the shower pipe. Delivered from our stock in Finland. Other nozzles on request.
Why Masspap ruby nozzles

Getting a good cleaning result
A new nozzle restores the jet, but the cleaning result also depends on how the shower is set up. These are the points we check first:
- Coherent jet. The jet has to be laminar when it hits the fabric. If it breaks up, cleaning suffers. Raising the pressure seldom helps and only increases water use.
- Oscillation speed. Ideally the shower moves about one orifice diameter per fabric revolution. In practice the speed is often too high.
- Stroke length. A multiple of the nozzle spacing, often 2–4 times the spacing. A wrong stroke leaves streaks, especially on press felts, and can cause uneven dewatering and profile problems.
- Distance and position. Correct distance from the fabric and correct position of the shower pipe in the fabric run.
- Orifice size. The smallest orifice that your water quality allows saves water and energy.
If the oscillation is wrong, changing the nozzles alone does not fix streaking. In Finland we also survey high-pressure showers and change nozzles during shutdowns. Outside Finland we supply the nozzles and help you with the settings above.

Frequently asked questions
Will Masspap nozzles fit our showers?
They fit showers with M30 × 1.5 or M32 × 1.5 threaded nozzle seats. Send us the current nozzle type or a photo, and we will confirm.
How do I change the nozzle?
Depressurise the shower, unscrew the old nozzle and screw in the new one with a 10 mm hex key. The O-ring seals against the seat, and there are no separate gaskets or lock rings. The shower pipe stays in place.
Which orifice size should I choose?
Use the same size as now, unless you want to reduce water use. A smaller orifice uses less water and energy, but needs clean enough shower water so that the nozzles do not plug.
Why is the fabric streaky after a nozzle change?
Streaks usually come from the oscillation speed or stroke length, not from the nozzles. Check that the stroke is a multiple of the nozzle spacing and that the speed is not too high.
